Hyalex Orthopaedics has announced FDA 510(k) clearance for its HYALEX Slalom™ MTP Hemiarthroplasty System, designed to treat degenerative conditions of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The system utilizes Hyalex’s Hydrosurf™ materials to replicate the biomechanical properties of native cartilage, offering a motion-preserving alternative to traditional fusion procedures. The company plans a limited US market release followed by a full rollout later this year.
