Philips Launches Bridge Plus Occlusion Balloon for Managing SVC Tears

Royal Philips has launched the Bridge Plus Occlusion Balloon, a device aimed at assisting electrophysiology teams in managing life-threatening superior vena cava (SVC) tears during transvenous lead extraction procedures. The balloon can be deployed in under two minutes and is designed to occlude the vessel to minimize blood loss and stabilize patients, thus providing essential time for surgical repair. Clinical evidence indicates that the availability of an occlusion balloon during such procedures significantly improves survival rates.
