Heat-Based Therapy Alters Epilepsy Brain Networks

A study published in the Chinese Neurosurgical Journal reveals that researchers have used radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RF-TC) to observe the effects of heat treatment on brain networks related to epilepsy. By analyzing implanted brain-electrode recordings before and after RF-TC, the study identifies early brain connectivity signals that could predict a patient’s response to this minimally invasive epilepsy treatment.
